Karl Mordo, primarily known as Baron Mordo, is a character within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). He is introduced as a Master of Mystic Arts training at Kamar-Taj under the Ancient One in the film Dr. Strange.
Initially an ally and mentor to Stephen Strange, Mordo is portrayed as a skilled and dedicated sorcerer following a strict code. He guides Strange through his early training and helps him understand the threats facing the world.
However, Mordo becomes disillusioned with the Ancient One's use of power from the Dark Dimension and the bending of natural law. He believes this corrupts the natural order. At the end of the movie Dr. Strange, Mordo declares his intention to eliminate other sorcerers to restore the balance he feels has been disrupted.
